STALBITSA CAVE
Interesting for the tourists and guests of the village of Karpachevo is the Stabulitsa Cave, with the shape of a reverse funnel. Located about 3 km west of the village, it is accessible on foot, with an out-of-the-way bicycle or by car. In rainy weather the car road becomes more difficult.
The cave is an ideal round underground hall with a diameter of about 40 meters. It climbs down a metal ladder, which was repaired in 2010 by Devetaki Plateau Association and the village people. The cave is unique not only because of its shape – when the sun shines through the cave, the sunbeam stands at a different angle, depending on the time of the year and the time of your watching.
Extreme challenge for photography lovers. Moisture in the cave steam away in the lighted space, and this game of light and steam lets you unleash your imagination. If you want to go in, you need a lantern. Gumboots are also a good idea.
